About

My name’s Carla.  I started this blog when my first daughter was born and I really, reeeeeeeally heart her.  Now, there are two daughters; so really mama hearts babies but that just doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily.  This here space is my very grown-up, modern day dear diary sans the lock and key.

I just want to write my heart out so one day when my daughters Google my name they’ll find this here blog like an old journal in an attic (just less dusty and easier to read).  They’ll read through the archives and think I’m pretty cool shit (I hope).  They’ll print it all out into some very chic looking leather bound book and pass it down generation to generation.  Then, when I’m long gone and six feet under, my great-great-great grands will flip through it and, even though they never knew me, will be able to, well, know me.

Stalk Me
(um, kidding…no stalking, please…but feel free to check me out elsewhere)

  • I write about motherhood and being Latina at The Mami Diaries for Latina magazine.
  • Along with 3 fabulous Latinas, we launched El Tiki Tiki.  Think of it as a virtual cafe con leche with your besties.
  • I maintain the blog for my favorite local maternity and baby boutique Bellani Maternity.
  • You can follow me on Twitter.
  • Because there’s a whole lot more to me than this About page, check out 100 Things About Me.
